Configuration of Passwords

For security reasons, the firmware will prompt you for a password configuration the first time you log in to the camera.

There is no password because this is the first time your camera has been used. Enter the user name “root” and the password nothing.

To meet the password strength requirement, enter a combination of alphabetic and numeric characters. The camera administrator’s default name is “root,” and it cannot be changed.

Some special ASCII characters are supported, but not all:!, $,%, -,., @,, _, and.

You can incorporate them into the password combination.

Another prompt will appear, asking for the password you just set. After entering the password, you can begin configuring your camera and viewing the live view.
