How to network settings to default and Reset administrator login credentials?

  1. On your Synology NAS, find the RESET button. 2
  2. To hear a beep, press and hold the RESET button for roughly 4 seconds. Press and instantly release the button.
  3. Open Web Assistant up. Select your Synology NAS twice. Enter the system default password of admin on the login page, leave the password field empty, and click Sign In.
  4. Change your account’s password, then click “Submit.”
  • The system automatically fills in the name admin in the username box if there is only one administrator account with that name.
  • To update an administrator account’s password if there are many administrators, choose the account from the drop-down option.

 

  1. Click Sign In Now after you have successfully changed your password.

 

Re-install DSM and Restting Synology NAS

  1. On your Synology NAS, find the RESET button. 2
  2. To hear a beep, press and hold the RESET button for roughly 4 seconds. Press and instantly release the button.
  3. After 10 seconds have passed, press and hold the RESET button for a second time for 4 seconds, or until you hear 3 beeps.
  4. Watch for the STATUS light on your Synology NAS to start blinking orange or green after around two minutes. You have successfully erased the system configurations and reset your Synology NAS.
  5. Locate your Synology NAS by typing find.synology.com into the search box of your web browser. Your Synology NAS should have Configuration lost as its state.
  6. Click your Synology NAS twice. Reinstallation is completed by following the wizard’s instructions.
